Twickenham Area Guide
Offering a combination of urban and rural living, Twickenham is a leafy, affluent suburb located on the banks of the River Thames south-west of Richmond with easy access to the M3, M4 & M25. Just over 9 miles from Heathrow Airport and 20 minutes on the fast train to London Waterloo, Twickenham is an excellent location for those seeking a home in an attractive area with much sought after state and private schools and parks near the capital.
The town centre is bursting with good restaurants offering worldwide cuisine and trendy bars/eateries, the beautiful cobbled and historic Church Street being the hub of the town. There are also renowned and popular riverside pubs much frequented due to their pretty locations.
The riverside path from Twickenham’s glorious Orleans House (with gallery) and gardens past Marble Hill House’s rolling acres leads straight into Richmond town centre and is one of the most glorious walks to be found in the area. As well as being steeped in history and architecture, Twickenham is also renowned for its Stadium (the home of England Rugby) and Twickenham Film Studios.
