Teddington and Strawberry Hill Area Guide
On the edge of the famous Royal Bushy Park, a former royal hunting ground of kings, and by the River Thames, Teddington and Strawberry Hill have a unique character.
Teddington was mainly a rural area until the mid-nineteenth century and the arrival of the railway, and consequently the majority of the properties date from then.
There is a good selection of large Victorian and Edwardian houses as well as smaller cottages. Full advantage has been taken of the river frontage with some fantastic more recent developments offering views over the river towards Richmond Park.
The area is ideal for families as the local schools, being in the London Borough of Richmond, have an excellent reputation and there are plenty of open spaces and rivers walks. Travel connections to both Central London and Heathrow Airport are very speedy. It is the ideal location for those who wish to have a peaceful and restful environment in which to live and at the same time be within easy reach of the metropolis.
Teddington’s pretty high street and riverside are full to the brim of bars, restaurants and boutiques, and the larger towns of Richmond and Kingston with their more comprehensive shopping facilities are close by. Teddington Lock and footbridge are nearby where boats of all shapes and sizes provide riverbank entertainment.
