Kew Area Guide
It is undoubtedly a privilege to live in Kew. Cross over Kew Bridge from the M4 motorway and there is an immediate calming village atmosphere due to the beautiful Kew Green and St Anne's magnificent church. A stone's throw away is the main entrance to the outstanding World Heritage Site, The Royal Botanic Gardens.
Georgian cottages and idyllic old Victorian houses circle the Green and there is an abundance of residential property in quiet secluded roads.
Being in the Borough of Richmond means there are excellent local schools available, both state and private, and a good choice of nurseries. Kew village is an 18th century English village with its quaint, yet useful shops and the underground and main line stations with speedy services to central London close by.
You can dine well in the area with internationally known top class restaurants and many others from a variety of countries, not forgetting good old English fish & chips.
Catch a Thames River Boat at Kew Pier and you have the option of travelling at a leisurely pace through central London to Westminster Pier by Big Ben, or go westwards following the route that was well travelled by the Royal Barge 500 years ago via Richmond, Kingston and Teddington Lock to historic Hampton Court Palace one time home of Cardinal Wolsey and Henry VIII.
